Continuing on the basis of the city of Athens and the Parthenon, next to be discussed is the Goddess to whom both are entirely connected.

Athena was one of the 12 gods of Olympus to whom the Greeks of the ancient world believed in.

She is connected to wisdom and chastity. She is a Virgin although many pursued her. She was born out of Zeus's head after he swallowed her mother Metis.

Metis, Athena's mother, had many of the characteristics passed onto her daughter.

The name literally means wisdom and cunning. She herself was goddess of good counsel, planning and wisdom. She was Zeus's advisor until a prophecy came along that she would give birth to a som more powerful than him.

Following the example of his father Cronus, if order to get rid of her he devoured her whole 🤦🏽‍♀️. It was late though, because Metis was carrying Athena already. She had even began equipping her with an armor and arms.

After a few months of Zeus pregnancy 😂, he started having terrible headaches. Athena was poking his head with the arms and letting him know she was about to come out.

Hephaestus helped him, opening his scalp with an ax and Athena glorious sprang out fully grown and in her armor!

And so Athena was born 🤍
